:: ROAD CONDITION IN KUPANG REGENCY

In Kupang regency the road leads to any remote places. Some road already being improved by the government, while some already paved. This regency has road length of 1.270,10 km. There are 2 bus station in Kupang regency to help transporting goods and comodities from local market to Kupang city. The one in Noelbaki and the other one in Bolok. Most part of Kupang is accessible but any public transport. Motor rental called OJEK is ready every roads will help to access some part of Kupang, besides you will have driving and guide you on the same times. Motorbike rental is about 5 US$ for one day.

AMFOANG REGION

Almost all remote places can be accessed by any car, motorbike or other transportation. Some road is realy muddy on rainy season, specially along the costal area of Amfoang. There almost 100 narrow and wide river to pass before reaching the area of Amfoang, which supposed to one of the most isolated place in Eastern Island province. Amfoang is also one region of Kupang Regency which directly bordered with the youngest state of Timor Leste. As it is a very remote place, make Amfoang stay undiscovered to be a tourist destination, and surely practizing their traditional, original custom.

On the rainy season people has to prepare mentally and physically before exploring the beauty and nature of this Amfoang. The beauty of the white sandy beach along the costal area, the smile of the local people will your reward. It takes days to complete the journey of 200 km from the provincial capital of Kupang.

SEMAU island
Semau is a small island nearby Kupang city. It takes half an hour sail to get this island by speedboat from Kupang beach. The main transportation in this island motorbike, which are available for rent. This island is about 14 km length and 7-5 width. Though it close to Kupang city and have been long time influenced by Christianity but this island still maintaining their traditional life, and this island know as a mistic one among people in Kupang and neighbor.

Sabu Island.
To visit Sabu will be posibble with boat on every week, takes 12-18 hours sail. And plane on every day which takes 1 hour flying. There are truck and minibus for public transportation in this island. Motorbike rental is available in the island. The transportation fee is probably is more expensive than other place because petrol price is more 1 US$ (ten thousand rupiahs).

Raijua Island
This island has become one of the remote part of Kupang Regency. This island takes about 2-3 hours sail from Sabu island by regular speed boat.
